Who we are

TECHNIK – academic artistic folklore ensemble, established in 1953 under patronage of Slovak technical University in Bratislava, Slovakia. Its members are young people, those hobby, along with study and work, has become folklore. By dance, songs and music they try to bring closer old traditions and habits from regions all around Slovakia.

Duration of our wide range repertoire could be from 10 up to 120 minutes.

We are able to perform a small form of the program in duration of approximately 10, 20, 30 minutes, but also a full lenght program of 120 minutes.

You would be able to see a program full of dances, music and songs from all parts of Slovakia presented by up to 35 performers.

Repertoire is very diversed and contains dances of small member forms and also bigger forms. The dances are performed by men and also women.

The music section  /6-8 members/ together with the members of singing group /4-6 members/ is able to create pleasurable atmosphere and their repertoire is long enough for several hours of enetertainment.

In recent years we represented our Slovak dance and music traditions on festivals in Nan Ying festival in Taiwan (Tainan city), Mexico (San Luis Potosi), China (Dongguang – Guangdong), Hungary (Szekszard), Czech Republik (Hradec Kralove), Serbia-Monte Negro (Pazova), Italy (Vignanello), Greece (Lefkas), USA (Florida).

As well we are the winners of Slovak national academic competition in years 2005,2006,2008 and 2010.

Our ensemble during all these years successfully performed and represented our country in 22 states on 4 continents. Thanks to this, domestic and international spectators could have seen and accept works of art of our ancestors, with pleasure and joy.
